Rock Climbing Clinic

Have you wanted to get up some of the bigger climbs in iconic destinations like Moab's desert towers, the Black Canyon and even Yosemite? This clinic, one of our most popular rock climbing services, equips you with the skills to efficiently and confidently climb long and challenging routes. Learn essential trad climbing skills and multi-pitch transition techniques for tackling longer routes.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Unaweep Canyon’s 500-foot granite walls, you’ll gain the confidence to explore classic climbs throughout Colorado and other rock climbing destinations.

Day 1: Unaweep Canyon

Begin with introductions to the goals of the course and warming up by top roping a few moderate routes to assess climbing abilities and provide tips to improve movement skills. Next, we move into a discussion of placing and removing gear and building traditional anchors. The day finishes with an introduction to efficient multipitch transition systems.

Day 2: Unaweep Canyon

After a review and adding some building blocks for multipitch transitions we apply the skills by following multipitch routes in the vicinity. Students will be in teams of 2 plus 1 guide. Students will practice cleaning gear, building anchors, lead belaying on multi-pitch routes and belaying a follower.
